Helping Children With Loss

Children grieve too, but their grief often looks different than adults expect.

Children Grieve Differently Than Adults

Sometimes it shows up as anger, anxiety, withdrawal, perfectionism, trouble focusing, stomach aches, or sudden emotional reactions. Sometimes children cannot find the words for what they feel. And sometimes the loss may be recent, or something they have quietly carried for years.

Many Caring Adults Want To Help

They want to help but were never taught how.

This compassionate, practical workshop helps parents, grandparents, teachers, school counselors, clergy, first responders, foster parents, youth leaders, and other caring adults learn how to support children through grief and life’s losses in healthier, more connected ways.

In This 4-Week Online Workshop, You Will Learn How To:

  • Help children feel safe, seen, heard, and understood

  • Replace common myths about grief with healthier communication

  • Support emotional expression without shame, fixing, or judgment

  • Recognize how grief can show up emotionally, physically, and behaviorally

  • Better support children through death, divorce, illness, trauma, relocation, and other major life changes

  • Respond with greater confidence during difficult emotional conversations

  • Model healthier emotional expression and resilience

This is not about having the “perfect” words.

It is about learning how to become a calm, compassionate, emotionally safe presence in a child’s life during moments that can shape them forever.

When children feel emotionally supported, they are more likely to build resilience, communicate openly, and move through life’s challenges in healthier ways.

You Can Make a Meaningful Difference

You do not need to be a therapist or grief professional to help a child heal.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer is learning how to show up differently.
